Box of Bones Found in Family’s Attic Hopefully Not Toys for Deranged, Escaped Twin

While helping clean out his parents’ Oak Lawn home for their downsizing to a condo, Brian Banderford, a local 3rd grade teacher with Chicago Public Schools, uncovered a worn cardboard box filled with large, mammalian bones in the family’s attic.

“Halloween decorations, a hunting trophy, maybe they had a really big dog before I was born; these are the sorts of scenarios I was running through in my head,” Banderford told us. “But in the back of my mind I just couldn’t shake the feeling that these were the toys my parents provided for my deranged twin to keep him occupied so he wouldn’t sneak down from the attic to exact revenge on a brother who’s accepted by society while he lives a life imprisoned.”

Carol and Brett Banderford denied allegations they’d locked an evil version of their son in the attic of their three bedroom/two bathroom house and guaranteed their property was “in no way unsafe for its future inhabitants, and not haunted by a twisted maniac living in the walls.”

Brian Banderford still has his concerns. “I’ve just always had this feeling, you know? My whole life I’ve felt this dark presence in the house like someone with a soul of pure evil was watching and waiting. Seeing that box of bones just finally provided me with the evidence I’ve always needed. My parents clearly locked my demented twin brother in the attic when he started to display violent tendencies, and never had the strength to tell me. Wow, this has got to be why they never wanted me to go in the attic.”

“We never wanted [Brian] to go to the attic because he had terrible asthma as a boy. And no, before you start to think that he’s the gentle, weak one and the evil twin is strong and vicious, just stop. We’re trying to close on this damn house. I don’t need anyone thinking there’s anything wrong with this house. It’s just a box of bones for Christ’s sake! I think we moved it out of my dad’s house when he passed! Oh my God. Now that I think about it... the scratch marks on the door! The whispers I used to hear as a boy!”

As of press time the Banderfords’ had put the box in a neighbor’s garbage.
