Limited Indoor Dining Rules Reduce Menus To 25% Capacity

STREETERVILLE — In an effort to continue safety measures as restaurants slowly reopen to indoor dining, new limitations are reducing all menus to 25% capacity. 

“Obviously this is an imperfect solution, but as long as everyone follows the guidelines we should be able to keep both customers and staff happy and healthy,” said assistant manager Kelly Dylan, 32, overseeing the printing of new menus which simply read POTATO SOUP and HOUSE SALAD WITH CHICKEN OR. “Before COVID, we’d offer the house salad with either chicken or tofu, but sadly tofu was a hazard of the new regulations,” said Dylan, wiping the plural off of the Specials board. “Our special, tonight and every night this week, is cheddar pizza. It was originally a four-cheese pizza, but…”

As customers meandered in, server Danny Ontario, 24, steeled himself. “I’m a little worried about some of the regulars,” he said, familiarizing himself with today’s special, cheddar pizza. “We’re famous for our tiramisu, but city rules had us limit that dish to just a dollop of mascarpone cheese. Not sure how that’s going to play.”
